Kersbergen, has been warded the Army Commendation Ribbon for the outstanding services which he rendered- during the period, 5 April 1945 to 5 September 1945. The new decoration, which, ranks as an equal to the Bronze Star Medal, was awarded to 1st Lt. Kersbergen.'in a letter from Brigadier General Hornsby. Commanding General of the Army Air Forces Technical Training Command in St. Louis, Mo. 'Lt. Kersbergen, is the husband of Dolores CMoran) Kersbergen, Sioux Center, Iowa.

Lt G. Kersbergen In Austraiia Lt. Garret P.W. Kersbergen writes to nis friends, Mr .and Mrs. Floyd Taylor of Center Twp. that he is now in Australia, having left this country about the last of July. He says that the chmate is nice, people are friendly ana get "excellent food. The letter was written on the new V Mail stationery which is the fastest service for men inthe U.S. Forces outside of this continent. Lt. Kersbergen wondered about the grain being harvested, supposed cutting of fodder had commenced and the seed corn is in the bag, good- olti yellow corn, the pride of Sioux County and Center township. Lt Kersbergen at one time worked aL the Midland Farm and Garage which Mr. Taylor operates.
