Evangeline, “Vangie”, was born in Webbers Falls, OK to Bertha (Butler) and Charles Meeks. She attended Chilocco Indian Agricultural School and graduated from Porum High School. She worked as a payroll clerk for the F.A.A. until her retirement in 1990. She is survived by her husband Don Smith, her son, Harold Underwood and wife Charlene; son Gary Underwood and wife Deyaune; daughter, Pamela and husband Barry Thurman; grandchildren, Quinton, Lance, Jessica, Tiffany, David, Chelsea; 10 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Buchanan Funeral Service from 1-8 pm with the family receiving guest from 2-4 pm. Services to celebrate her life will be 2:00 pm, Monday, October 24, 2016 in the chapel of Buchanan Funeral Service with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery.
