He and his brother, Jim Hicks were avid hunters and he enjoyed his family so much. He also was active in genealogy and also loved to bowl. He also was a square dance caller and loved to take his wife dancing. He was very active in his church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) (nickname: Mormon Church).
