Daniel "Dan" Dale Doolen, 65, of Benton Harbor passed away on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at his home.

Dan was born on Jan. 4, 1951, to the late James and Inga (Janke) Doolen in Benton Harbor. He was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness in his younger years, and was an active member of the Coloma congregation. Dan took great joy in sharing his faith with others, and preaching the "Good News." He also had an affinity for rescuing animals, and a passion for antiquing.

He is survived by daughters, Rachel Doolen of Wausau, Wis., and Sarah Doolen, of New York; a granddaughter, Madilyn Pschigoda of Wausau, Wis.; brothers, Jim (Sondra) Doolen, of Texas, and David Doolen of Florida; and a sister, Marilyn (Jim) Pitcher of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Inga.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life for Dan will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, with visitation immediately following, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3231 Boyer Road, Coloma.
