Loretta Mae Bassinger, age 80, of Lewisville, passed away in her sleep Dec. 24, 2006. Loretta was born in Bolivar on March 28, 1926, to Herman E. and Margaret Bentley. She was a member of the West Main Street Church of Christ in Lewisville. She married Charles Bassinger in 1946, and Charles preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1984.She is survived by two daughters, Joan Branch and husband Dayton of Plano, and Becky Geske and husband David of Lewisville; son, Roger Bassinger and wife Vicki of Flower Mound; five grandchildren, Darren Branch and wife Vanessa of Allen, Brian Branch of Plano, Shelle Lamb of Lewisville, Amy Guymon and husband Wes of Mississippi, and Cliff Geske of Lewisville. Loretta was also preceded in death by her brother, Cash Lee Bentley.
The family will receive visitors and friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the West Main Street Church of Christ, 950 W. Main St., Lewisville, TX 75067. Interment will follow in the Old Hall Cemetery.
