Lavada V. Adkins, age 93, of Blountstown passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016. She was born in Clarksville, January 22, 1923, to the late Britt and Alma (Bailey) Smith. She was a homemaker and worked in the fish bait industry. Lavada was of the holiness faith.
In addition to her parents, Britt and Alma Smith, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Adkins; her son Harvey Leon Champion; brothers, Harburt Smith and Lonnie Smith; and two sisters, Arsula King and Eulmae Cumbee.
Survivors include two sons, Carlton Champion and his wife, Sue and Earnest L. Adkins and his wife, Teresa, all of Blountstown; four daughters, Audrey Terry, Stella Hough, Tina Reddick and her husband, Chip, and Chris Stewart, all of Blountstown; thirty-two grandchildren and sixty-six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Shiver and Johnny Shiver and his wife, Gladys, all of Panama City; and one sister, Drue Smith, also of Panama City.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 18 at Adams Funeral Home. Services will be held 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 19 in the funeral home Chapel. Interment will follow in Lake Mystic Cemetery in Bristol.
