Arline A. "Jackie" Keys
1918 - 2006
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28th, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at the Westside District Cemetery for life-long Taft resident, Arline A. "Jackie" Keys, 88. Her dear friend, The Rev. Jerry Buzzell, will officiate and celebrate her life at that time, and those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3:00 PM until 8:30 PM. Mrs. Keys was born Arline Ann O'Dell on November 1, 1918 in Fellows, California and, surrounded by the love and prayers of her adoring family, peacefully returned to our loving Lord in her home on Saturday. December 23, 2006. Our dear mom. Jackie to all who ever knew her, loved the Lord with all her heart, loved life, loved her family, her friends, her church, and was a devoted, caring, and loving mother, wife, friend, and neighbor. Mom was the quiet bedrock of our family and she met our needs with a life-time of sacrifice, patience, encouragement, and dearest love. Truly, she was a woman of character, wisdom, and faith, and we are so blessed to have her for our mom. Mom's joys in this short life were simple and profound: she loved to waltz and swing-dance with the love of her life, our dad. She lovingly and devotedly studied the Word of God, and she quietly and tirelessly served her church. Mom loved to sit quietly in the backyard of her home at sunset and watch the small sparrows and doves "flit" across the blue sky, Mom loved red licorice, American history, and the blue Pacific Ocean. She loved long chats with any one of her many friends, and she always enjoyed having a "house-full" for dinners and parties. Our mom was ever proud of her country, and she was so very proud of her son's military service. Mom is lovingly survived by her sons, Bill of Winchester, CA. Randy of Taft, Bob of Waxahachie, TX, and Kevin of Bakersfield. Mom is also lovingly survived by their beautiful wives, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved and cared for all. Our family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Thomas Wen, Dr. Caroline Wong, Dr. Richard O'Reilly, and Kitty Shinn of Optimal Hospice for their care and concern. And, if possible, mom would surely hug her long-time and dear friend, Dr. Richard Deaner In lieu of flowers, mom would appreciate your donations to Youth for Christ In Bakersfield. Until we meet again, God Bless You Mom. Arline Ann Keys "Jackie" Nov. 1, 1918 - Dec. 23, 2006 Erickson & Brown Funeral Home
