Opal Irene Adams, 89, of Centralia, KS, formerly of Holton and Corning, KS passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Eastridge Nursing Home. She was born August 26, 1927 in Goff, KS the daughter of Everton and Hulda (Bareiss) Bell.

Opal graduated from Goff High School in 1945. She had lived in Corning for 30 years and then lived in Holton from 1999 – 2004. Opal was a homemaker. In earlier years, she worked in the café at the Onaga Sale Barn and was also a custodian for Corning United Methodist Church.

She was a member of the Circleville United Methodist Church. She was also past president of American Legion Auxiliary in Corning and United Methodist Women at Goff United Methodist Church.

Opal married Raymond Earl Adams on September 13, 1946 in Hiawatha, KS. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2010. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Eugene Adams; a daughter, Bonnie Jean Adams; a grandson, Jason L. Adams and 3 brothers, Alvin, Noble and Lawrence Bell...

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Goff. Family will greet friends from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Memorials may be given to the Corning Ball Park Improvements c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
