He was born Nov. 22, 1942, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Ellen L. (Snyder) and Oliver C. Kerr.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Punxsutawney.
Fred worked for County Market for 14 years, mowed lawns and washed cars. He always had a smile on his face.
He was a representative for PEER at Mulberry Square and loved going to Camp Friendship and all other activities through The ARC of Jefferson County. He enjoyed going for rides, collecting calendars, doing crafts, being around people, going for walks and on trips, fishing, bowling, watching movies and going to church.
Surviving relatives include four siblings, Norman A. Kerr of Chase City, Virginia, Judy Ingros and husband Jon of Punxsutawney, Millie Buffington and husband Gary of Pensacola, Florida, and Denny Kerr and wife Barb of Punxsutawney; three nieces, Shannon Wesdock, Jody Smith and Renee Ellis; and four nephews, John Ingros, Gary Buffington Jr., Mike Kerr and Garrett Neal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Kerr, and a sister-in-law, Mary Kerr.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at the Deeley Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Punxsutawney.
Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mr. Kerr, to the First Baptist Church of Punxsutawney, 209 E. Union St., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
