Kevin Michael Huebner, 17, of Milford, Mich., a Newport native and a senior at Milford Lakeland High School in Milford, was pronounced dead on arrival Aug. 17 at a hospital in Milford. He had been struck by a car while he was walking home on Route M59.
Son of George F. and Stella M. McCarthy Huebner, he was born here Sept. 30, 1958. He was an athlete during his high school years and was captain of the Fraser Hockey Team.
Kevin and his family moved to Fraser, Mich., in 1960 where they lived for 14 years before moving to Milford a year ago. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Fraser.
In addition to his parents, Kevin leaves a sister, Sandra Huebner, and a brother, Keith Huebner, both of Milford; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. C. A. Huebner of Sterling Heights, Mich., three uncles, Edward W. McCarthy, John McCarthy and Andrew J. McCarthy Jr., all of Newport; and an aunt, Miss Ellen M. McCarthy of Newport.
