SOUTH PORTLAND – Ida M. Glidden, 88 of Willard Haven Road, formerly of Springvale, died Thursday at Seaside Nursing Facility, Portland, after a brief illness.

She was born in Acton, October 21, 1894, daughter of Porter and Nancy Pillsbury Ham, and graduated from Sanford High School in 1914.

Mrs. Glidden lived most of her life in Springvale and moved to South Portland eight years ago. She was a member of the Pleasant Street Free Baptist Church of Springvale and the Gleaners and the Missionary Society of the church.

Her husband was Earl Glidden, who died in 1964.

She is survived by a son, Arnold E. Glidden of Brandywine, MD; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Lois) Rich of South Portland, with whom she lived and Mrs. Ansel (Muriel) Whitehouse of West Buxton; and two sisters, Mrs. William (Grace) McKie of Springvale and Mrs. Allen (Mildred) Ridley of Shapleigh.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Springvale. The Rev. Wayne Wallace, pastor of the Pleasant Street Free Baptist Church is to officiate. Spring interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Parsonsfield.

Calling hours are tonight, from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
