SHREVEPORT, LA - Mr. Robert Dodd Fletcher, 65, passed away at Shreveport Manor Care of February 22, 2002 after a lengthy illness. A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2002 in the chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. Officiating will be Dr. Mike Anderson of Parkview Baptist Church.

Mr. Fletcher was a native of Winnfield, La and a resident of Shreveport since 1945. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and the Elks Club. He was a graduate of C. E. Byrd High School and attended College in Natchitoches, LA. Mr. Fletcher was a Navy Armament Mechanic Sr.

Mr. Fletcher was preceded in death by his former wife, Marion Fletcher and his father, E. D. Fletcher.

He is survived by his mother, Audr[e]y Fletcher; daughter, Deborah Edwards; son, James Fletcher; and five grandchildren.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Christine Bulkhalter, Ms. Mary, Carol, Sharon and all the caring nurses at Shreveport Manor Care.

He married Marion Clair Gerkin on July 25, 1966 in Harrison County, TX. I have presumed that he is interred in the same cemetery as his parents since he was also a resident of Shreveport.
