Hylon T. Plumb, 82, Salt Lake City, Utah, died Saturday, Aug. 18, according to word received Monday by his sister, Miss Anna Jean Plumb of Milton. The funeral was held Tuesday with burial in Salt Lake City.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Plumb, he was born June 21, 1874, in Milton. He attended the local public schools, Milton academy and College from which he was graduated in 1896. He received his master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin and later taught engineering in Purdue University. He was a promoter of education and right living, and had served on the board of directors of Milton College.

In 1909, due to the illness of his wife, they moved to Denver, Colo., where he was the consulting engineer for the General Electric company. After her death in 1910, he and his little daughter Enid moved to Salt Lake City where he held the same position with that company.

He traveled through the west inspecting electrical equipment and became one of the company's chief lecturers in the United States with his lecture called "The House of Magic."

By his second marriage he had a daughter, Mary Frances, who is an electrical engineer in a college in New York City, and a son, Theron, who is an engineer with the Idaho Power company. His daughter Enid died during the influenza epidemic.

Besides his immediate family, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. A. G. Fromm of Thiensville and Miss Plumb of Milton.
