Pickens, Roy Dwayne 77, passed away on October 22, 2016.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Pickens; children, Dawn Womack (Marty), Michael (Kelly Hoppock); grandchildren, Brett Womack (Michele), Andrew Womack (Janelle), Kyle Womack (Angel), Tristan Hoppock, and Danielle Stetina; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Donald Pickens (Marlene), Reita Atkinson (Moline, KS).

Preceded in death by his father, Roy and mother, Annie, and five sisters.

Roy was a graduate of WSU and served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Cessna, Computer Science for NASA, Commander Aviation, Raytheon, Dassault Falcon Jet, Ozark Aviation.

There will be no visitation. Celebration of Life Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2016, at The Assembly at Goddard, 20700 W. Kellogg, Goddard, KS 67052.

Inurnment 3 p.m. V.A. Cemetery at Winfield, KS.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M., Sunday, January 3, 2015; Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 4, 2016, both at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East.

Preceded in death by his wife, Velma (Duffy) Allen; parents, Edwin A. and Mary Florence (Zahm) Allen; 3 brothers; 1 sister.

Survived by his daughters, Jean (Roy Dwayne) Pickens, Deanna M. (Anthony) Botterweck, both of Wichita; grandchildren, Dawn (Marty) Womack, Michael Pickens, both of Wichita, Ron Botterweck of Houston, TX, James (Rebecca) Botterweck of Cabot, AR; 5 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; very dear friend, Edyce Fraizer.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202. Downing & Lahey Mortuary East.
