Mrs. Anita Atwood Hoots, 88, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018. She was born February 27, 1930, in Forsyth County, to the late Arthur Grant Atwood and Nancy Conner Atwood. Mrs. Hoots was a lifelong member of Peace Haven Baptist Church. She enjoyed flowers, Scottish Terriers, and playing Bingo. Mrs. Hoots was a retired Switchboard Operator for Southern Bell. Preceding her in death are her husband, Max Thomas Hoots; sister Margaret Andrews; and brother, Donald Atwood. Surviving are two sons, Mark Hoots (Sandra) of Lewisville and David Conner Hoots (Lisa) of North Wilkesboro, and a grandson, Matthew Hoots. A funeral service will be conducted in her honor at 2:00 PM Friday, November 16, 2018, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, officiated by Rev. Nathan Parrish and Rev. Dr. Ray Benfield. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
