Leslie was born February 9, 1929, in Three Oaks, Michigan to the late John and Luella (Amen) Stone. After serving two years in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman First Class, he received an honorable discharge. Before receiving an honorable discharge from the Michigan Army National Guard, he served ten years in Reg. HQ and HQ Company, Intelligence and Reconnaissance. He was active duty, assisting with clean up after the big Flint tornado in 1953.
He met his sweetheart, Aloha, at Ray Larsen Dodge and Plymouth in Clio and they were married on November 8, 1952. Leslie held many jobs in his career. He began setting pins at a local bowling alley at age 11. He was a soda fountain jerk and pumped gas before joining General Motors Parts Division in Swartz Creek. After 30 years, he retired and worked for Pirates Park, Pamida, and Discover Zone.
He attended Oakland University, receiving his certificate in Distribution, Storage, and Costing. He also attended GMI, earning his certificate in Welding. Leslie proudly held a Chauffer's license and transported materials for GM and drove big rigs delivering mobile homes as far as way as Louisiana. As a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, he was an usher and teller for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Aloha; daughters, Pamela Stone of Grand Blanc, and Patricia (Steven) Roberts of Davison; grandson, Robert Lewis of North Carolina.
