Franklin Henry “Sandy” Olds, 88, of North Vernon passed away at 4:03 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at his residence.
Born June 12, 1928 in Jennings County, Mr. Olds was the son of Roscoe and Hazel Kelly Olds. He married Margaret Pearl Aeschbocker on September 14, 1946 in Vernon, Indiana; she preceded him in death on March 12, 2013
Mr. Olds was a lifelong farmer and was employed for Arvin’s in North Vernon for 30 years. He enjoyed camping and going fishing.
Survivors include one son, Jamie (Marcia) Olds of North Vernon, Indiana; three daughters, Sharon (Roger) Morgan Sr. and Beth (Mark) Cornett both of North Vernon, Indiana and Debbie (Dudley) Jones of Naples, Florida; eleven grandchildren, Roger (Anna) Morgan Jr., Scot (Rhonda) Morgan, Kim (Carl) Owen, and Jacob Olds all of North Vernon, Melissa Winters of Scipio, Margaret (Mike) Greene of Seymour, Nina (David) Moore of Noblesville, Tracy Doty of Louisville, Kentucky, Joshua (Kelsie) Olds of Tulsa, Oklahoma, John (Joellen) Clem of Scottsburg, and Dwayne (Anna) Jones of Salem; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers, Virgil, Harrold, Walter, Merrill Charlie, Henry Franklin (infant) and Roscoe Olds Jr.; sisters, Alma Hartwell, Mary Olds and Betty Hartwell.
A funeral service for Mr. Olds will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Joshua Olds officiating. Family and friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
