Jean was educated at St. Casimir's and had additional secretarial training. She enjoyed dancing and the theater. A few years after her marriage and with the potential WWII, a large Studebaker factory was built across Laramie (little did they know that their new born daughter would marry one in 1957), Then with the war, she became a "Rosie-the Riveter", working in the control area of Studebaker. After the war the taste of employment remained and she started hew own business, a women's clothing store, the "Cinderella Shop" at 6917 Archer.
