Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2016 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Buckman for Bruce A. Heigl, age 66, who passed away Wednesday at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center. Rev. Ken Popp will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church in Buckman.

Bruce was born Nov. 25, 1949 in Little Falls to Erwen & Ruby (Nelson) Heigl. He grew up in the Buckman area and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971. Bruce married Lois Preimesberger on May 10, 1975 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz. He worked as a carpenter for Conlon Construction for 42 years and also was a self-employed independent contractor. Bruce was a member of Sauk Rapids American Legion Post #254. Bruce was kind, loving, articulate and a very loyal man. He enjoyed deer hunting, his work and was a master of his craft. He took pride in new projects and always displayed a strong work ethic. One of his proudest accomplishments was restoring and remodeling his family farm.

Survivors include his wife, Lois of Sauk Rapids; and son, Russell of Kansas City, MO. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents. He also leaves behind many cherished connections (friends, coworkers and business associates) with whom he always shared his construction craft and proudest carpentry accomplishments.
