Services for Sylvia Masters, age 97, of Palestine will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday at Crockett Road Church of Christ with Dan Manuel officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Percilla. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster. Mrs. Masters died Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. She was born August 27, 1919, in Percilla, Texas to Marcus and Laura Dunnam Dickey. Mrs. Masters was a member of the Crockett Road Church of Christ. She is fondly remembered by her family as a loving mother and grandmother and for her kind and generous spirit. Mrs. Masters was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hugh Stafford Masters, a daughter Janice Masters Poe, sons John Dickey and David Masters, granddaughter, Laura Lynn Moser, seven sisters, Mary Ellen Brown, Rose Ethel Jones, Willie Mae Teems, Annie Beatrice Spann, Ruby Pearl Barnes, Winona Hogan, and Minnie Laura Frisby, three brothers, Allie Dickey, Marcus Alton Dickey, John Frasier Dickey. She is survived by her daughter Dianne Masters Hare of Palestine, a son Larry Masters of Conroe, six grandchildren, Robert W. Hare, Dena Ollise Lowndes, Joel David Masters, Adam Jones Masters, Mistylee Poe, and Holly Ann Powers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
