She was born July 4, 1950, the daughter of Edith (Hiles) Bates and the late Russell Bates Sr.
She was survived by her mother Edith (Hiles) Bates of Uniontown, Pa., four brothers: Howard Bates of Denver, Colorado, Russell Bates Jr. of Uniontown, Pa., Donald Bates of Hagerstown, Maryland and John Bates of Thurmont, Maryland; two sisters: Lorinda Crawford of Hagerstown, Maryland and Diane Zelina of Uniontown, Pa.; three children: Esther Miller of Greensburg, Pa., Bernice Miller of Washington, Pa. and Russell Miller of Chamersburg, Pa.; ten grandchildren: Paula, Amanda and Christian Miller, Catlin Kinsley, Charles Moore III, all of Greensburg, Pa., Dekota and Arrianne Miller of Chambersburg, Pa., Samuel and Preston Zangla, Alyvia Dates of Washington, Pa., Companion and friend Mark Sabo of Denbo, Pa. and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father she was preceded in death by one brother, in infancy and her late husband, Clarence Miller, Sr.
Friends will be received at NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa. on Sunday, February 12, 2006, from 1 to 2 p.m. where a Memorial Service will be held with the Rev. Scott Gallagher officiating.
