Roy Gene Hall, 84, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

He was born April 19, 1932 in Davidson Co., the son of the late Ted Hall and Bertie Clodfelter Hall.

Mr. Hall was a member of Stoney Ridge Baptist Church and was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 32 years of service as a truck driver. He was a Christian man, an honest man, and a hardworking man who loved his family.

Mr. Hall loved farming and fishing at the coast. He sat on the Board of Directors of Sauratown Fire Department for many years, only recently retiring from his position.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Greg Gene Hall, and a brother, Jim Hall.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Helen Venable Hall of the home; a daughter, Kay Kiser and husband Ronald of Westfield; four grandchildren: Jason Kiser (Miranda), Jarrett Kiser (Staci), Kerry Hall and Ted Hall (Erica); five great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Hall and wife Greta of Pinnacle; a sister-in-law, Barbara Hall of Westfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church in Westfield with Rev. Dean White, Rev. Mark Hall and Rev. Gerald Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 this evening, Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
