William Henry Burkwalt
ALBION--William Henry Burkwalt, 55, of Route 2, Albion, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Sheldon Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for nine days. He had been in failing health for five weeks. Mr. Burkwalt was born June 28, 1900, the son of Fred and Mabelle (Tichenor) Burkwalt. He ahd lived in this vicinity all of his life. On Aug. 15, 1936, he married the former Frances Few in Angola, Ind. He had been employed at Union Steel Products Co. , Brooks Foundry, and Lonergan Mfg. Co. and was working at the Service Truck and Caster plant when it closed a year ago. Since then he had worked with a construction company here. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Brown of Albion; and Mrs. Eleanor Brown of Homer; five sons, William Harold, Arthur, David, Charles and Danny Lee, all at home; six grandchildren, his father, of Springport; a brother, Fred, Jr., of Springport and two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Coats of Springport and Mrs. Jennie Robillard of Albion.
