Robert Milas Honeycutt entered into the presence of his Lord on October 30, 2016. He was born on March 16, 1923, in Mooresville, NC, to Thomas Moody and Lettie Chester Honeycutt. He served honorably in the Navy during WW II and afterwards attended Greer Technical Institute in Chicago, earning a diploma as a diesel mechanic. This was the foundation for his long career with Cummins Diesel Corporation. Robert also taught diesel mechanics at Florida Junior College. He served as a deacon, boys Sunday school teacher and in the children’s ministry for many years in the Baptist Church. Sharing his love for Jesus Christ, fishing, hunting, gardening, and trips to Alaska were his favorite activities. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mildred Shehane Honeycutt. He is survived by his daughters: Rhona Ardizzoni (Bob), Beth Martin (John), Joan (Ken); grandchildren: Adam Ardizzoni (Sharon), Robert Ardizzoni (Sue), Evan, Katie; great-grandchildren: Courtney, Noah, Nathan, Jessica, Asher, Eliana Ardizzoni. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 5, at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd., 11 AM, with internment at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to City Rescue Mission (Jacksonville).
