Married Eleanor Victoria ("Nelllie") ANGELL on 28 Dec. 1898 in Newton, Mass. Was passenger and victim of the Sumner Street Bridge streetcar catastrophe of 7 Nov. 1916.

On election night, November 7, 1916, Boston electric trolley car #393 plunged through an open draw bridge at the Summer Street Bridge over the Fort Point Channel. Forty-six people drowned. At that time, the worst tragedy ever to befall Boston.
