Sara Margaret (Hamilton) Meigs was born on June 15, 1926 to Fred and Katie Hamilton of Winder, Ga., and died on Aug. 1, 2004. She was 78. Sara graduated from Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in 1946 and married Stanley Meigs MD on Jan. 25, 1947. Dr. Meigs and family relocated to Huntsville in 1960, where they established a pediatric medical practice and raised their six sons. Sara was a very caring, loving, and compassionate individual who will be sorely missed by family and friends. She is survived by 5 sons and their wives, 11 grandchildren, 4 sisters, and 1 brother, as well as other members of the Hamilton and Meigs families.
