Nancy was a War Bride having met and married her husband during World War II. Nancy worked as a dressmaker in Australia. She worked in the food service industry working as a waitress and restaurant manager. She enjoyed playing Bingo and playing the slots at the Atlantic City casinos. Nancy was a member of the College Hill Presbyterian Church in Easton, the American Legion Auxiliary-Bernadine May Post 457 and the Ladies Auxiliary of BPO Elks, Phillipsburg Lodge #395. Nancy served as Pohatcong Auxiliary Police Women and as Pohatcong Civil Defense Officer in the early 1970s.
Nancy is survived by children: Annette Marie Vliet, Roger Warren Blum, Christopher Alan Blum; grandchildren: Garret Winfield Vliet, Adrian Warren Van Vliet, Spencer Andrew Christopher Lank and Rebecca Anne Blum; great grandchildren: Hannah Marie Vliet, Owen Van Vliet and Alexis Brie-Anne Van Vliet; nieces and nephews and their families in Australia and the USA. Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Walter Warren Blum, who passed away in 1989; as well as her nine brothers and sisters: Rachel, Duncan, Angus, Jessie, Charles, Alexander, Zoe, Rebecca and Margaret. The family thanks Nancy's home health aide Linda Reinhardt of Visiting Homemaker Services of Warren County for her love, devotion and care. Thanks also to the many healthcare providers, friends and neighbors.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 11:00am at the Rupell Funeral Home, LLC; 465 Memorial Pkwy; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. A visitation of family and friends will be held from 10:00am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Belvidere Cemetery, Pequest Rd, Belvidere.
