IMAL BERNICE GARLOCK
Imal Bernice Garlock, 82 of Kirksville, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, Nov. 6, 2000, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
The daughter of Victor and Alma (Jeffrey) Runnels, she was born July 19, 1918 in Jacksonville, Missouri. On Dec. 6, 1938 in Lancaster, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Fermin Garlock who preceded her in death on June 17, 1948.
Her parents and three brothers, William F. Runnels, Alvin Runnels, and Russell Runnels, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and David Bailey of Republic, Missouri, Myrna and Jerry Larkey of Kansas City, Missouri, and Mary Kay and Bill Crnic of Kirksville; three sisters, Inez Babcock and husband, Orville of Kirksville, Eleanor Underwood of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and Ruby Smith of Kirksville; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jo and Gerald Morrow of Macon; twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Imal moved to Adair County at a young age and spent the remainder of her life in Kirksville where she was employed at International Shoe, Montgomery Ward, and Johnson Accounting & Realty.
She had a great love for her family and enjoyed traveling and visiting with them. She also enjoyed working in her yard and loved her flowers.
Imal was a member of the First Christian Church, the Berean Class, and also a long standing member of the Business & Professional Women's Club, where she served in numerous offices.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 10, 2000 at the Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Burial will be in Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.
