Son of Fred C. and Margaret L. Hoffman McGill, he married Agnes Cox, was a musician, lived at 98 N. Oakland Ave, Sharon, died there of influenza, per death certificate 106600, whose informant was F. C. McGee of Sharon. He was buried Nov 13 1937.

Donald H. McGill died at 8 pm Thursday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. McGill of Sharon, after a illness of two weeks with pneumonia. He was born 40 years ago in Franklin.


He lived here in his boyhood, moving to Oil City where he graduated from Oil City High School. He had a fine voice that won him renown on concert stage and radio. He appeared with the General Manifold minstrel troupe, graduated from Oberlin College and studied at Eastman School of Music and abroad. He served in the U. S. Navy in the World War, then appeared in concert singing in New York and other cities, touring the country. He recently was engaged in radio broadcasting in Cleveland, OH. He made his last appearance in Franklin almost a year ago in First Baptist Church, in a program sponsored by Monday Evening Musical Society.


Surviving are his parents; wife; brother William R. McGill of New Rochelle, NY; and uncles Attorney John G. McGill and Audley R. McGill of Oil City, and John Hoffman of Franklin.


Services will be at his parents home in Sharon at 1:30 pm tomorrow. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
