Memorial services for Lela Pledge, 35, will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, September 24, 2006 at Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Jim Cooper officiating.
Lela died Sunday September 17, 2006 at Vanderbilt University Hospital Medical Intensive Care Unit.
Born December 8, 1970 in Blytheville, AR, she lived in Jackson attending JC-M, Jackson State, and Lambuth. Lela loved animals, people and music. She is loved and will be missed by her family, her cat Veruka, and her many friends.
Lela is survived by her parents Janice and Albert Cherry Pledge of Jackson; a sister Cheryl Pledge and brother Jeremy Pledge both of Cedar Rapids, IA; her grandmother Georgia Pledge of Newbern, TN; Uncles Kent Elrod of Jackson, TN, Ronnie Elrod of Knoxville, TN, Danny Pledge, Steve Pledge, Mark Pledge, Lincoln Pledge and Jackie Pledge all of Newbern, TN; two aunts Sylvia Cunningham of Newbern, TN and Mary Beth Bolte of Dyersburg, TN.
Lela was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Sadie and Herbert Elrod of Jackson and her paternal grandfather Burton Pledge of Newbern.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time of the service.
Donations in her name to the Jackson-Madison County Humane Society or the Medical ICU at Vanderbilt Hospital will be an honor to her life and her memory.
