Roy D. Marvel, 78, of Lakeville, died unexpectedly June 12, 2016, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Frada (Itzkowitz) Marvell for 47 years. Born January 18, 1938, in Whiting, Ind., he was the son of the late Charles and Anna (Raasch) Marvel. Roy had been a resident of Lakeville for the past 28 years and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving for 8 years. He enjoyed astronomy, science, computers and yard work. In addition to his wife Frada, he is survived by 4 children, Doris Bishop and her husband Stecy of Ind., Colleen Marvel Jackson of Mich., Frederick Marvel and his wife Marta of Charlestown and Matthew Marvel and his wife Marlys of Mansfield; 4 grandchildren, Amber and Chrysta Bishop and Kenneth and Kaylynn Mezydlo; a sister-in-law, Darlene Marvel; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was also the grandfather of the late Jordan Linko. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA
