WILLIAM H. MOORE DIES
Van Meter (Special) February 12. William H. Moore, a long time resident of this community, passed away Friday, Feb. 11th at his home near Winterset. William Henry Moore, the second child of Nathan and Elizabeth Moore, was born on Nov. 19, 1851, and departed this life at the age of 86 years. Nathan Moore entered the land from the government where the town of Van Meter now stands about 1847 or 1848 and Will was born in the first log cabin which the father built. This cabin stood a little southeast of where the Clarence Dunn home now stands. Will lived in this vicinity until 1921 when he, with his sister, Mary, moved to Madison county near Winterset. He joined the Van Meter United Brethren church at the age of seventeen and has remained a member of that church ever since.

He leaves to mourn, two brothers and two sisters, Jasper Moore of Nooksack, Wash., Miss Mary Moore of Winterset, Abe Moore of Van Meter and Mrs. Etta Fisher of Winterset. Funeral services were held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Van Meter United Brethren church with the pastor, the Rev. E. A. Elliott in charge. Burial was made in the Van Meter cemetery.
