Tommy Lee "Tom" Beanblossom, age 81 of Denton Road, Denton, NC died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 10 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Dana Slack. Burial will follow at Hopewell Friends Meeting House in Asheboro.

The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.

Mr. Beanblossom was born October 3, 1935 in Davidson County. He was a graduate of Southmont High School and was employed as a salesman with the Western Auto Store in Denton for many years. He was a lifetime member of Holloways Baptist Church. He was a retired fireman with the Denton Volunteer Fire Department where he had served as an officer. He was a charter member and past president of the Denton Jaycee Chapter. He had been a member of the Denton Lions Club since 1970 where he had served as president and was very active in the blind activities of the Lions District. He was an avid Blue Grass Music Fan. He had been involved with the Project Santa in Denton He was married to Margie Reeder Beanblossom who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Troy Beanblossom and a brother Joe Beanblossom.

He is survived by son, Tommy Beanblossom, Jr of Denton; daughter Vickie Smith of Charleston, SC; stepsons, Darrell Little of Seagrove and Dwight Little of Bennett; stepdaughter Denna Baxter of Bennett; brothers, Bob Beanblossom and Jim Beanblossom both of Lexington; 2 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren 3 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
