The funeral of Ezra T. Bartlett was held in the Sharpe School House Wednesday afternoon in charge of Rev. C.W.Odom of the Burlington Methodist Church. A previous service had was held at Beemer, Nebraska before the body was brought here.
In early childhood he moved with his parents to Illinois and at the age of 17 moved to Bates county, Missouri. When 24 years of age he was united in marriage to Miss Mary L. Wagner. To this uion were born five children, Theresa M., John J., Curtis M., Albert E., and Omar S., who died in childhood. His wife Mary died in 1882. In 1888 Mr. Bartlett and his family moved to Kansas. December 2, 1895 he was united in marriage to Dora Chrisman of Burlington. To this union were born nine children, Harry L., Wilbur G., Marion S., Morris M., Lloyd C., Chester who died in infancy, Mary, Loren and Fay.
Mr. Bartlett lived near Sharpe, Kansas for twenty-two years. In 1918 he and his wife moved to Beemer, Nebraska to be near some of his children. While there he was taken with a stroke of apoplexy and lived only a few hours. In his younger days he was a member of the Baptist Church.
