Joseph L. Bay was a son of Robert Bay and Mary "Polly" Hamilton. He married Emeline "Emily" Parker on 24 Nov 1836 in Franklin Co., MO. They were the parents of 8 children. Emily died perhaps 7 Mar 1898; burial location is unknown. Joseph removed to Colorado, where he is found in the 1900 census with daughter Permelia Dalton and some of her offspring. He died in Pueblo and is buried there.
