Henry Owens Dies at 85 In Hospital

Henry Evan Owens, 85, 3016 Sprotan Lane, died Friday in a Topeka hospital.

He was born March 4, 1883, in Scott County, Ill, and had lived in Topeka since 1921. He was a member of Seaman Congregational Church. He was a boiler-maker for Santa Fe Railway where he was employed for 49 years before he retired in 1954.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Viola Agnes Owens, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Eva Hansford, East Point, Ga., Mrs. Dorothy Thompson, Landover, Md., and Iva Maree Owens, at home; two half-brothers, Dave Owens, Canada, and Larkin Owens, Baltimore, Md.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
