Her early years were spent in Florida, South Carolina, and Louisiana. She was a finalist in the Miss Louisiana pageant of 1950. She graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri with an AA degree and received her BSBA degree from Denver University, where she was a member of Delta Zeta social sorority and Alpha Eta Rho, international aviation fraternity.
She married Robert E. Stout on February 9, 1952 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Prior to her marriage, she was a stewardess for Continental Airlines. Mrs. Stout was a housewife who devoted her time and efforts to her family, community, and fraternal organizations.
She was a past-president of Stephens College Alumni Club of Denver; B.P.O. Does Drove #216, Greeley, Colorado; Littleton Lodge #1650 Ladies of the Elks; and Pinehurst Country Club 9-Hole Ladies Golf Association. She was also a member of El Mejdel Temple #47 Daughters of the Nile, Sunny South Chapter #12 O.E.S. Bastrop Louisiana, and Mile High Wings of Denver.
She enjoyed golf, bridge, reading, and traveling. After her husband retired, they did a lot of cruising, visiting over 40 countries. Mrs. Stout visited 44 of the 50 states. (She missed New England.)
Survivors include her daughter Debra (Tim) Graham, son Chuck (Kelly) Stout, two grandchildren, Tim (Melanie) Graham of Littleton and Carolyn Stout of Denver, and two great-grandchildren, John Robert and Thomas Michael Graham.
