Hazel Lone (Shepherd) Accorsini, 92, of Mendon, formerly of Framingham died peacefully at home on November 7, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of 44 years to the late Joseph G. Accorsini of Framingham who died in 1990. Born in Harlem, GA on March 28, 1924, she was the daughter of the late David J. Shepherd and Willie Mae (Alley) Shepherd. Hazel graduated from Middle Georgia College in 1943 and met her future husband in Augusta, Georgia. Upon their marriage, the couple moved to Framingham where she worked for many years at Dennison Manufacturing while raising her two sons. In 1999, she moved to Mendon to live with her son David and his family. Hazels love of family and music were most important in her life, particularly playing piano. She also enjoyed following politics, playing cards with friends, and was an avid reader. She is survived by her son Vincent and his wife Jean (Hilfiker) Accorsini of Hingham, and her son David and his wife Jean (Curran) Accorsini of Mendon. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Scott Accorsini, Brian Accorsini, Joanna Accorsini, and Julia Accorsini. She is survived by her sister Daisy Luckey Aukerman of GA, her brother William E. Shepherd and sister-in-law Jean Shepherd of GA, sister-in- law Sr. Teresa Accorsini, Salesian Order, Parma, Italy, and her nieces Gail Luckey Lawhorn and Sandra Shepherd Skinner and nephew James M. Luckey II. Predeceasing Mrs. Accorsini are her sister Virginia Shepherd Coleman and nieces Libby Coleman Hethcox, Ann Coleman Watson, and Debbie Shepherd Autrey. Visiting hours at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. (corner of Union Ave.), Framingham will be Friday from 4 | 7 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Saturday, November 12 at 10 AM at St. Stephen s Church, 221 Concord St., Framingham. Burial will follow at St. Stephens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to: Dana-Farber Cancer Center, Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation, 14 Prospect St., Milford, MA 01757; Salmon Hospice of Greater Milford, 37 Birch St., Milford, MA 01757.
