Sarah Thompson was the daughter of Reverend Timothy Walker, the founding father and first minister of Concord, New Hampshire. Following the death of her first husband, Col. Benjamin Rolfe, Sarah married Benjamin Thompson, later to become known as Count Rumford. Mother of Countess Sarah Rumford, philanthropist.
