WILLIAM A. BENNETT, 87, formerly of 832 N. Van Buren St., Wilmington, died Thursday of congestive heart failure in Tilton Terrace, 801 N. Broom St., Wilmington, his residence for three years.

Mr. Bennett worked for 20 years at Equitable Trust Co. (now Bank of Delaware) and then for 27 years at the Du Pont Co., Experimental Station, retiring in 1969.

He was a member of St. Like's Reformed Episcopal Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by a niece, Carolyn V. H. Ropp of Hockessin; a grandniece; and two grandnephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in McCrery Memorial Chapel, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road, where friends may call at 10. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, 33rd and N. Market streets.
