Funeral services for Ernest Walton Beam, 85, of Lamesa will be held Friday, November 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Allison officiating. Interment will follow in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. Ernest passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016 in Lubbock. He was born December 8, 1930 in Stanton, TX to Wren and Gertrude (Teal) Beam. He married Wanda O'Brien June 18, 1950 in Dawson County. They were married for 66 years. Ernest was a talented blacksmith and he was an art collector. He specifically enjoyed collecting the works of Dalhart Windberg. Ernest loved gospel music and spent much of his time listening to it. He also farmed in Dawson and Martin Counties. Ernest is survived by his wife, Wanda Beam of Lamesa; children, Gwen Cloud and husband, Ronnie of Levelland, Gerenda Beam of Midland, and Gill Beam of Boerne; brother, Neil Beam and wife, Judy of Lamesa; sister-in-law, Linda Beam of Lamesa; grandchildren, Amanda Pulliam and husband, Keith of Midland, Grant Cloud and wife, Brandi of Rockwall, Sara McKandles and husband, David of Midland, and Justin Cloud and wife, Stacy of Lubbock; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Anna, Aubrey, and Emily. He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; and his grandson, Will. The family suggests memorials to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N.
