Notice of Funeral services:
Services for Mrs. Mary Meckes were held Saturday morning at 9:30 in the Duker funeral home and at 10 in St. Francis Catholic church. The Rev. Gaudence Schroeder, O. F. M., officiated. Mrs. Martin Neubauer played the organ in the funeral home. Burial was in Cavalry Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank and Paul Timpe, Bernard Hessing, Harold Zopf, Michael Miller and Larry Meckes.

Mrs. Mary Meckes, 85, of Aurora, formerly of Quincy, died Tuesday night at 9:20 pm in St. Joseph nursing home in Aurora.
Mrs. Meckes was born in Quincy, Jan. 30, 1880, a daughter of Adam and Kate Vogel Zopf. She was married to Joseph B. Meckes Nov. 28, 1904 in Quincy. He died Nov. 23, 1922. She attended St. Francis Catholic church while in Quincy. She moved to Aurora 17 years ago.
Surviving are two sons, Matthew of Quincy and Louis of Berwin; four sister, Mrs. Frank (Helen) Hessing of Quincy, Mrs. Dean (Josephine) Foster of Aurora, Miss Lucille Zoff [Zopf] of Quincy, Mrs. Ollie (Louise) Miller of Lisle; two [3] brothers, Adam Zopf of Milwaukee and Frank and John Zoph [Zopf] of Quincy; a sister, Mrs. Anna Fultz of St. Louis; 13 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis and George Zopf and a sister, Mrs. Lucy Thompson.
