Born in Poughkeepsie on July 26, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Marie Miller Marvin.
Mary Ann was married to John A. Decker, Jr. who predeceased her on July 13, 2003.
She was employed at the Dutchess County Department of Health beginning as a home health aide and retiring as a Case Manager after 25 years. During her employment, she was honored with the Commissioner Award for Public Health Services.
Mary Ann is survived by her 2 children; Christopher Decker of Poughkeepsie and Karen White and her husband Bobby, also of Poughkeepsie; her 2 grandchildren, Brandyn Williams of Poughkeepsie and Sierra Oakley of Pleasant Valley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband John A. Decker, Jr., her sister, Patricia J. Beekman and her brother, William E. Marvin.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 1 from 4-7 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, October 2 at 10 am from St. Martin De Porres Church, 116 Cedar Valley Rd., Poughkeepsie. Interment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
