SHREVEPORT, LA - A memorial service for Howard Clinton Belch, Jr. will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, April 3, 1995, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Marshall Street at Fannin. Officiating will be Monsigneur O'Hanlon, the Reverend J. Frederick Patten, and the Reverend Pat Day.
Mr. Belcher, member of a pioneer Shreveport family was born July 23, 1932, to the Late Lora Christine Little and Howard Clinton Belcher.
Mr. Belcher graduated from C. E. Byrd High School; received a BS in Accounting and Economics from Louisiana State University and a BS in Geology from Centenary College in Shreveport. While at LSU, he was a member of the Gamma lota Chapter of Sigma Chi. Upon graduation from LSU, he received his commission as Lt. in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Belcher was a stockbroker with A. G. Edwards for 34 years. Because of his love of nature, he was an avid sportsman and enthusiastic gardner at his camp on Cross Lake.
He was preceded in death by his son, Howard Clinton Belcher, III.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ruth Fowler Belcher; his daughter, Christina Kyle Belcher of Shreveport; and one son, Paul Frederick Belcher of La Jolla, California; one sister, Mrs. Robert S. Regenstein (Jean) of Atlanta, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
