Abel M. Salinas, 72, passed away at his residence, after a long battle with cancer. He was an Army Veteran, a retired pipe fitter and also owner of Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant in Robstown, Texas. He loved being outdoors and out at his ranch and enjoyed going hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents Apolinar and Santos Salinas of Concepcion, Texas.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Espie G. Salinas, his son, Leo (Gracie) Salinas both of Robstown, Texas. His daughter, Lisa Yvonne (Fiance Bryan Jinnett) Salinas of Austin, Texas. His brother Alejo (Umbelina) Salinas of Robstown, Texas and his sisters, Elydia S. (Amando) Garza of Falfurrias, Texas, Emelda S. Ozuna of Orange Grove, Texas and Elsa S. (Victor) Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Two aunts that he dearly loved Manuela Salinas and Ofilia Palacios both of Concepcion, Texas.

Visitation and rosary were held Jan. 3 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, TX. Funeral mass was celebrated Jan. 4 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rios, Texas. Burial followed at the Alfredo Garcia Cemetery in Concepcion, Texas.

Active pallbearers: Eliseo Garcia Jr., Javier Garcia, Onofre Garcia, Ruben Garcia, Elias Garcia and Dan Montemayor.
