Marzavan was the youngest of four children born to Marzavan Sr. and Pearl (McDowell) Moose.

Marzavan Moose II, 81, of Skylyn Place Retirement Center died March 21, 2002, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
A native of Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Marzavan and Pearl McDowell Moose.
He was a 1948 graduate of The Citadel, where he was a member of Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. He was a mortgage banker with Cameron Brown/First Union in Greenville until his retirement in the late 1960s.
He was an active volunteer in a number of state and local organizations, including Converse College musical events, The Spartanburg and Greenville Little Theaters and the Music Club of Greenville. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Spartanburg until he moved to Greenville, where he became an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and was a member of the choir and on the board of the children's day school. He returned to Spartanburg in 1996 to live at Skylyn Place, where he was president of the Resident's Council for a term. He also served as "Grandfather" to Mrs. Payne's second grade class at Spartanburg Day School for several years.
Survivors include a sister, Frances Moose DeWees of Aptos, Calif.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Skylyn Place, 1705 Skylyn Drive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Marion W. Clark. Committal services will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens immediately following the services at the church.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Parish Life Center Building Fund, 415 S. Pine St., Spartanburg, S.C. 29302.
