Nancy Jane Forbes Mitchell, 76 of Ardmore, Tennessee died on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at her home following a brief illness.
Mrs. Mitchell or "Jane" as she was known by many was born on Saturday, March 16, 1940 in Pulaski, Tennessee, to the late Cowan Pitt Forbes and the late Bernice Storey Forbes. She was of the Methodist faith and lived most of her life in the Ardmore area. Mrs. Mitchell retired from the U.S. Army Missile Command. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Kenneth Yancy Mitchell (2010).
Surviving are two sons: Troy (Lisa) Mitchell of Ardmore, TN, and Yancy Mitchell of Winchester, TN, two grandchildren: Zach (Aarika) Mitchell of Birmingham, AL, and Maggie Mitchell of Auburn, AL.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Bruce Walters officiating. Burial will be in Blanche Cemetery, Blanche, TN. Pallbearers will be Billy Bass, Jimmy Bass, Jon Bass, James Lamar, Jimmy Lewis, Johnny Lewis, Edward Rouze, Allen Storey, Larry Storey, and Eddie Williams.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, November 21, 2016, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
