She was married February 9, 1939 to James W. Boyd in Cainsville, Missouri and had 65 years together before he passed away on July 17, 2004.
Beatrice was born in Colorado and spent most of her childhood in the mountains and Disappointment Creek area. At the age of 15, she moved to Leon, Iowa. Most of her life was lived in Iowa with James raising her family with a few years in California and the last 12 years being spent in Texas.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Humeston, and she cherished her time there and in the women's Circle. Many livelong friendships were formed during those years in Iowa, and she always missed her church family. Her greatest enjoyment in life was her family. she treasured her time spent with grandkids, great grandkids, and the newest great-great grandbabies. The smallest things would bring a smile, and she would beam with that child-like wonder at the beauty of a mountain scene, bluebonnets on the side of the road, a winding creek, a rainstorm, or making fried bread for the kids. it always made you look again so you could see it the way she did. She loved life and always had something to look forward to. She was a very strong lady in every sense of the word and remained fiercely independent to the very end.
Her life will be celebrated everyday and her memory carried on by her loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James; son Jay Alfred; daughter Rebecca Joyce; granddaughters Rebecca, Tony, and Tammy; sisters Lois Terrell and Mabel Webb; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bill and Betty Boyd Nettie and Joe Powers, Helen and Francis Dingman and Warren Boyd.
