On August 4, 1979 an open house was held in Boise to honor Myrtle. Here is a part of the document found on familysearch.org:

A former resident of Salem is being honored at an open house in Boise at the home of her niece, Mrs. Ron (Betty Harris) Rawlins.

Mrs. Rappleye was born in Salem 91 years ago to C.R.J. and Mary Celestia Black Harris. Her parents were among the first to homestead land in the Snake River Valley in the fall of 1883.

Mrs. Harris' claim of 160 acres was later laid out as the town of Sale, Idaho. He owned a General Store in Salem in which Mrs. Rappleye worked for 26 years. After her father's death in 1932, she moved to the Boise Valley where she met and married her husband, Frank D. Rappleye. They lived together in Nampa in a home her husband built until his death in 1960.

Although she is getting on in years, that doesn't seem to hinder her activity. She lives alone and cares for herself and home with hardly any help. She trims her hedge, cans fruit, makes minor repairs around her home, and remains active in her church at Nampa.

Myrtle lived for 100 years. She was the last one of her siblings to die.
