Lois Hopkins Moses, age 90, entered into her Heavenly Home on Friday, January 26, 2024.


She was born on December 17, 1933, in Newcomb, Tennessee. After graduating from Jellico High School her family moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. She met and married the love of her life, Gene Howard Moses, Sr. They were married for 38 years. She was a faithful member of North Knoxville Baptist Church and was Vacation Bible School Director for many years.


She worked for 25 years at St. Mary's Daycare where she was known to her many children as Ms. "Wois."


She was preceded in death by her parents, Garlis and Jesse Hopkins, by her husband, Gene Moses, Sr., daughter, Karen Moses, son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Angie Moses, son-in-law, Chuck Goosie, grandson, Justin Moses and great grandson Sirius Hall, sister, Barbara June Hopkins, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawrence and Anne Hopkins and Don and Carol Hopkins and sister-in-law, Barbara Hopkins.


She is survived by her children, Debra Goosie, Richard (Patti) Moses, Donna (Marty) Keith, and Rhonda (James) Tarver, brother, Bill Hopkins, sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Butch Davis. She has 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was loved by all that met her. Our Mother always had a smile on her face. Our family will greatly miss her. She is forever in our hearts.


Graveside service is at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Feb. 24, 2024, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be at North Knoxville Baptist Church on Feb. 24, 2024, from 3-5 pm with service to follow. Pastor Jim McNeal and Dave Gaddis will be officiating.
